This brings production for the season to date back to -2.3%.  Production is down across most parts of Australia this season.  The only region to experience growth is Northern Victoria where weather conditions were very favourable earlier in the season.  However even this region was behind in the month of April.  Dairy Australia reports that rainfall through April was below average for most dairying regions.  Feed prices are increasing due to steady demand and tighter supplies.
