After three years at NZ Pork, chief executive David Baines has tendered his resignation.

NZ Pork chief executive David Baines has resigned from the organisation.

Baines joined NZ Pork as general manager three years ago and was promoted to chief executive in 2020.

Chair Eric Roy says the board had accepted Baines’ resignation with regret.

“David has been instrumental in developing a strong team and improving our capabilities to support the pork sector in a range of areas,” Roy said.

“He has led the organisation through a period of significant change and challenges, including the covid-19 pandemic, the development of a bio-security Operational Agreement and the review of the Code of Welfare. We wish him all the best for his future endeavours.”

Baines will leave NZ Pork in February.

NZ Pork will launch a recruitment process for a successor later this month.
