Fonterra crisis: all product now accounted for

Fonterra today advised that their clients have now accounted for all goods containing whey product contaiminated by Clostridium botulinum.  Eight clients purchased the contaminated whey product from Fonterra as an ingredient for use in their own products.  The volume of product sold by Fonterra was then multiplied numerous times as it was mixed with other ingredients to produce various consumer products including infant formula.  “I understand the anxiety this issue has caused over the past few days and I apologise for this, particularly to mums and dads around the world” Theo Spierings Fonterra CEO Fonterra now have assurances from their clients that all the contaminated products have been identified and contained.  Parent’s across the globe can now be certain that infant formula available on supermarket shelves is safe to consume.  “I understand the anxiety this issue has caused over the past few days and I apologise for this, particularly to mums and dads around the world” said Theo Spierings.
