PGG Wrightson South Island sales manager Dave Burridge said the crossbred full length and second shear fleece wool was 2-3% dearer compared to the previous Christchurch sale on October 11.

In general hogget wools were 2-7% dearer, with the longer ones most affected, he said.

Crossbred oddments were 3-5% dearer and mid micron wool continued to sell well, in line with the stronger Australian market.

The passed and withdrawn rate for the sale was 6% and the next Christchurch sale is due November 8.
