Yashili is one of China's leading manufacturers of infant formula. Yashili has traditionally purchased their milk powder from New Zealand for use in their infant formula products which go by the brand names Yashily and Scient.
The agreement reached between Yashili and Mengniu is said to be the largest merger and acquistion ever to occur within the Chinese dairy industry.
Yashili is a name many New Zealanders are familiar with after Yashili announced that they were going to set up a dairy factory in the North Island.
