Slow down in CWT assistance
Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) accepted just two requests for export assistance last week. The assistance was granted for sales of 23 tonnes of Cheddar cheese and 300 tonnes of butter. The number of export assistance grants made by CWT has slowed in the past month. This year to date CWT has assisted member cooperatives in selling 21,367 tonnes of cheese, 21,385 tonnes of butter, 20 tonnes of anhydrous milk fat and 99 tonnes of whole milk powder. These goods were sold to 30 countries spread across six continents. These sales are equivalent to 90% of the USDA’s projected increase in milk marketings for all of 2013.
