EU dairy products' prices improved again last week except for WMP (-2.4%) and edam cheese (-0.8). Average butter prices increased 0.2%, SMP was up 0.3% and cheddar made gains of 0.4% for the week.
Spot milk price fairly stable in the Netherlands last week at €27.
Feed and energy costs continue their downward trend. Feed costs fell 6.5% and energy costs fell 1.2%.
The GlobalDairyTrade auction saw its third consecutive double-digit increase with the Index increasing 16.5% (+48% since August) which was the biggest gain in five years. WMP price rose 20.6% to an average price of US$2495/t.
