Frankton dairy-beef weaner fair 22.10

Autumn-born Hereford-Friesian bulls, 133-150kg, improved to $650 Autumn-born Friesian bulls, 150-214kg, strengthened to $620-$700 Spring Hereford-Friesian heifers, 110kg, pushed to $590 Spring Hereford-Friesian bulls, 111-126kg, fetched $610-$675 Spring Friesian bulls, 108-126kg, traded at $560-$600

Just under 1000 weaners were penned at Frankton last Tuesday, and spring weaners made up the majority.

Autumn-born Hereford-Friesian steers, 153kg, sold well at $730, and heifers of the same breed, 137-156kg, earned $525-$600. Friesian heifers, 158-165kg, traded at $365-$370. Autumn-born Angus-Friesian bulls, 139-159kg, improved to $665-$700.

Spring beef-cross steers, 127-128kg, managed $600-$670. Most Hereford-Friesian heifers, 101-122kg, traded at $520-$545, and Hereford-dairy, 100-118kg, $480-$545.

Hereford-Friesian bulls, 99-104kg, earned $582-$600, while red Hereford-Friesian, 102kg, made $540. Most other Hereford-dairy, 102-112kg, realised $518-$550.

Friesian bulls were well-sought after, as 96-107kg earned $490-$540, and lighter 70-94kg lines managed $355-$470.  Jersey bulls, 81-95kg, traded at $250-$430.
