Top prices at this year’s Gore ram fair were consistent with last year, says PGG Wrightson livestock genetics representative Callum McDonald.

There were 39 Perendales and four Cheviots offer, with Hautere 141/22, sold by JR and CR Henrickson from Dannevirke, topping the sale at $13,500. The purchaser was the Tripp family from Snowdon Station, Rakaia Gorge.

McDonald said that top price was slightly higher than last year.

The sale also attracted 88 other maternal and terminal sires.

Two sires sold for $3200 each: a Texel ram, Kaweku 57/22, sold by MF Shallard and Co from Gore, and a Poll Dorset, sold by Arkley Farm, Gore.
