Whole milk powder (WMP) and whey products have both had good gains. WMP increased in volume by 12.8% and in value by 62.2%. Dairy Australia include infant formula in the WMP category. An increase in the volume of infant formula being exported has skewed the WMP values up. Whey products increased in volume by 9.1% and in value by 37.1%. Skim milk powder (SMP) has also had positive change in volume terms, increasing by 31% month on month. This has not translated into value gains, however, as SMP has reduced in value by 10.5%.

Significant declines occurred in butter and butter oil (or, anhydrous milk fat), both in terms of volume and value. Both products declined more than 20% in volume. Butter declined 17% by value and butter oil declined 24%.
