Futures market remains quiet

There has been no trading on the NZX Dairy Derivatives market over the last couple of days, making for an unusually quiet week.
Reading Time: < 1 minute

There is usually a reasonable amount of activity during the week of a GlobalDairyTrade event, but this has not been the case this week. It seems as though traders are assessing their options before making any moves.

For the near dated April contract, whole milk powder is priced at US$2125/t, skim milk powder at US$1720, anhydrous milkfat at US$3100 and butter at US$2800.

Prices are generally below where they were this time last week. Milk powder prices remain above where they were a month ago. Anhydrous milkfat prices are lower than where they were a month ago for the near dated contracts, but are otherwise aligned with month-ago prices. Butter prices are aligned with month-ago prices through most of the forward curve.
