A couple of extra buyers from outside the area helped the market along, especially the R2 steer section. Most R2 steers sold for $2.87-$3/kg and a few R3 steers traded at $2.73-$2.81/kg.
Quality R2 heifers most sold for $2.80-$2.86/kg with some light Jersey-cross heifers, 298-311kg, at $1.80-$1.81/kg.
Yearling heifers continued to sell very well. Hereford heifers, 219-286kg, earned $685-$880, Hereford-Friesian, 264kg, $850. Angus-cross yearling steers were the heaviest of the lot at 206kg and fetched up to $805.
