Dairy America’s butter specifications for GDT

DairyAmerica will commence offering Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter on GlobalDairyTrade (GDT) from Trading Event 95 on July 2, 2013. At present Fonterra is the only other company to offer butter on GDT.  Fonterra offers both unsalted and salted butter. The product specification sheet indicated that the DairyAmerica butter will be supplied by California Dairies.  California Dairies is one of the largest suppliers of butter in the US. The product offered by California Dairies will contain a minimum of 82% milkfat with a maximum moisture level of 16%.  Fonterra’s unsalted butter has a minimum of 82.9% milkfat and a maximum moisture level of 15.7%.
