Sonita Chandar has always had a passion for writing and has been working in journalism on and off since I was in high school and held general reporting roles at several newspapers. She joined the Stuff Agrimedia team in 2014 as a farming reporter, then took on the role as editor of NZ Dairy Farmer, now Dairy Farmer at GlobalHQ. Prior to that, she and her husband owned a dairy farm near Dannevirke. She enjoys the diversity of my role – every farm and farmer is different and every farmer has a story to tell – and feels privileged to tell their stories and to work with the best team in the industry.

Farmers hit the surf

Legacy continues

The late Dr Colin Holmes was a Massey University lecturer, researcher, mentor and advocate of the dairy industry.

He is renowned for his research and advocacy of the dairy industry and had a long and distinguished career in the industry.

It’s tinder dry

As temperatures soar and paddocks start to frizzle farmers in Northland are destocking and buying in feed while firefighters are nervously standing by waiting for the sirens to go.

Faith, family and farming

Southland farmers are community and spiritual leaders in the Islamic community. They put their faith above everything and answered the call to help after the Christchurch mosque shootings.

Nothing to lose

Previous winners are encouraging others to enter the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards, saying they have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
