Hereford-Friesian and Angus-Friesian steers were popular, with the top lines making $1180-$1200, $2.74-$2.98/kg. Next cuts traded at $2.61-$2.67/kg, plainer types and dairy-cross lines $2.22-$2.42/kg.
Hereford-cross and beef-Friesian heifers sold to $2.53-$2.60/kg for the better types, with $2.38-$2.45/kg spent on medium lines. Jersey and Friesian-cross, 250-290kg, were back to $1.08-$1.65/kg. Bull prices reflected steady demand with Simmental bulls, 445kg, topping the section at $1170 for $2.63/kg, while better types of other breeds were trading at $2.56-$2.69/kg. CPK rates fell to $2.16-$2.19/kg for Jersey bulls and Hereford-cross rigs.
Weaners sold to solid demand with Hereford-Friesian steers selling to $720. Most other lines of all breeds traded at $330-$640. Heifers sold for $460-$570 for Hereford-Friesian and Angus, with dairy heifers at just $140-$180. Friesian and Friesian-cross bulls made $315-$525, Jersey $415. A small offering of 1-year bulls sold for $400-$790, steers $640-$980.
Very few older cattle were offered with R3 Hereford-Friesian heifers, 565kg, making $2.74/kg, and Angus of same weight $2.69/kg. Friesian and Friesian-cross 2-year steers sold for $1000-1040.
Store lambs made up the sheep offering, with ram lambs making $60, ewe lambs $59 and mixed sex $50-$59.
